1. Definition Article

Article is an adjective showing how specific or how common a word is a noun. There are three types of articles, there are: the, a / an, and who do not have the article (zero article).

2. Pattern in Article

·  a + singular noun beginning with a consonant: a boy; a car; a bike; a zoo; a dog
·  an + singular noun beginning with a vowel :an elephant; an egg; an apple; an idiot; an orphan

·  a + singular noun beginning with a consonant sound: a user (sounds like 'yoo-zer,' i.e. begins with a consonant 'y' sound, so 'a' is used); a university; a unicycle

·  an + nouns starting with silent "h": an hour
·  a + nouns starting with a pronounced "h": a horse

3. Explanation and Example of Article

          For my explanation “The and a/an” has the similar function to make some word or sentence more clearly correct. Because Many People sometimes use this article incorrectly.
          Normal people think that article is not important, but for the realistic, article is very important because article can make different persepsion if someone take mistake article for some sentences.
          Use article is not difficult when we understand the lowest concept of that. We can make some persepsion in our mind that "The" is use spesific thing and A/an is use for non specific thing.
          "A/an" has very easy way to take them to sentences, we can take to our mind that "a" is use for unvowel alphabet and "an" is used to vowel alphabet (a,i,u,e,o).

Now i will explain more detail about article.

English has two articles: the and a/an

“The” is used to tell about specific or particular nouns;
a/an” is used to modify non-specific or non-particular nouns. We call the the definite article and a/an the indefinite article.

The = definite article
a/an = indefinite article

Different a/an is about the vowel (a,I,u,e,o), ”An” is used for Vowel in the first letter of noun and “a” is used for letter besides vowel

1. Indefinite Articles: a and an

"A" and "an" used for the common noun and not specific.
“A” used for something that is not necessarily. For example:

- I have a Shoes. This sentence indicates that I do not have a specific Shoes, only Shoes in general.
- She lives in a house . Houses in this sentence is the only common house, not a specific house.

"A" and "an" signal that the noun modified is indefinite, referring to any member of a group. For example:

- "My Friends really wants a Car for Christmas." This refers to any Car. We don't know which car and the type of car.
- "Somebody call a policeman!" This refers to any policeman. We don't need a specific policeman; we need any policeman who is available.

2. Definite Article: “The”

The definite article is used before singular and plural nouns when the noun is specific or particular.
* Please Open the Window
* I like the little kid

Count and Noncount Nouns
The can be used with noncount nouns, or the article can be omitted entirely.
  • "I love to sail over the water" (some specific body of water) or "I love to sail over water" (any water).
  • "He spilled the milk all over the floor" (some specific milk, perhaps the milk you bought earlier that day) or "He spilled milk all over the floor" (any milk).

 "A/an" can be used only with count nouns.
  • "I need a bottle of water."
  • "I need a new glass of milk."

“The” is Not correct to use in the Geographical and place like name of street and country or place.

Example:
 ·  names of most countries/territories: Italy, Mexico, Bolivia; however, the Netherlands, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, the United States
·  names of cities, towns, or states: Seoul, Manitoba, Miami
